The History of Wooing Women by CDZA

This music video with the song mash-up starting as early as a 1955 song by The Platters and ending with a 2010 Enrique Iglesias song is interesting.

At around the 90s, the tone severely changes from romance to aggressive sexual songs.

What I REALLY like is that though the mashup is by White artists, they didn’t take the White privileged and lame way out by ONLY portraying rap songs as “unromantic” when they get to the end of the video. There’s other songs and genres. Contrary to popular belief, all kinds of artists, and citizens can be sexist. Not just rappers. No…really.

There are STILL artists NOW, making romantic music that isn’t all sexual aggression, but to pretend that a cultural shift hasn’t occurred over time is to be in denial methinks.
