So…on Saturday morning I found myself watching a cartoon called Horseland. I am not a mom, and even my nephew and niece are in middle/high school now, so I am rarely exposed to cartoons (that aren’t like, Adult Swim ones, LOL).
I thought that this cartoon was kinda cute. The only thing that bugged me was that though none of the characters were “negatively” portrayed in the episode that I saw (though the sisters who wouldn’t tell each other “I love you” were grossly materialistic), it still was the blonde hair, blue eyed one posing all of the ideas and giving all of the direction to the other girls in terms of making two of their friends who are sisters tell each other than they love each other. I did like that the Hispanic one referred to her “abuela” (using that word) and the Black one was NOT annoyingly overly sassy and stereotypical.
Plenty of room for growth in the cartoon, but better than some that I’ve seen in the past, though I don’t see them often.
