Uh No, Your Gendered Ideas Are Not “Natural”

It’s interesting…how many things are associated with innate gendered capabilities versus what’s really occurring:

Gender socialization Sexism  Misogyny  Stereotype threat Confirmation bias

Make sure that gender lines exist culturally and socially, reinforce them through norms and laws, stand in the way and hatefully punish women for stepping outside of the lines, girls and women begin to believe these negative ideas about womanhood and confirm them through thoughts and behaviors, and then when they don’t do something as well as a boy or man, the bias that they are “inherently inferior” is confirmed.

Oh yeah…don’t forget to make sure that when men are taught how to do something and women are not, that teaching is ignored and only gender is to blame why men are able to do something and women are not.
